Minecraft Summer Camp

Description

Minecraft Summer Camp at MOCA is back by popular demand! In this four-day-long programme, campers will be introduced to the fundamentals of architectural design through the game of Minecraft, a video game that also doubles as a tool for design and education. The programme will help campers hone their design skills and learn to work collaboratively.

Between tours and conversations led by our Art Educators, campers will have many opportunities to explore works of contemporary art close to home, incorporating MOCA’s current exhibition, Greater Toronto Art 2024 (GTA24). Campers will engage with the works of GTA24 artists including Lisa Myers, June Clark, and Catherine Telford Keogh. Each day will involve hands-on art-making, responding to the themes of community, development and our impact on the environment.
Each activity will merge the worlds of play and architecture to better understand how our world is built. Minecraft Summer Camp will be jam-packed with crafts, games, friendship, and outdoor activities at nearby parks!

Please note that a laptop, charger and Minecraft: Java Edition are required for this activity. These activities are youth-friendly and ideally geared towards ages 8-12, but every activity can be adapted to suit the needs and capabilities of each participant.
