Join artist Yazan Khalili and Tirdad Zolghadr, Associate Curator, KW Berlin, for a conversation about Khalili's artistic practice and video installation Medusa, on view at MOCA from Sept. 3. This work engages with the rise of facial recognition technologies and builds on the artist’s long-standing engagement with digital archiving in times of political unrest.

Yazan Khalili lives and works in Ramallah and Amsterdam. He is an architect and visual artist. His works have been exhibited in several major exhibitions, including among others: New Photography, MoMA, New York (2019); Jerusalem Lives, Palestinian Museum, Birzeit (PS, 2017); Post-Peace, Kunstverein Stuttgart (DE, 2017); Shanghai Biennial (CN, 2016); Sharjah Biennial (AE, 2013). Currently, he is a faculty member of the MFA program at Bard College, NY, and an artist in residence at the Rijksakademie, Amsterdam.

 

Tirdad Zolghadr is a curator and writer. His curatorial work includes research-driven durational projects as well as several biennial settings, while his writing includes novels as well as criticism. Zolghadr is Associate Curator at KW Berlin, and Director of the Summer Academy at Berne University of the Arts.
