Creative Conversations: Impostor Cities with David Theodore, Cameron Cummings and Rui Mateus Amaral

Showings

Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto Sat, May 7, 2022 12:00 PM

Description

Join MOCA and Rui Mateus Amaral, curator of Felix Gonzalez-Torres: Summer, for a panel discussion with Impostor Cities curator David Theodore and designer Cameron Cummings, whose project represented Canada at the 17th Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. The three will discuss the thematic ties between Impostor Cities and Gonzalez-Torres’s exhibition, exploring Toronto as a city that poses as other cities in cinema, shaping its identity in unique and unexpected ways. This conversation also builds on research conducted in the process of curating Greater Toronto Art 2021, a museum-wide survey exhibition of local artistic practices.
